Team Overview

The Mobility Engineering team is responsible for the architecture, design, engineering testing and 3rd line support of

all Deutsche Bank end-user mobile technologies including Apple iOS, Google Android and Blackberry platforms and

remote access solutions for bank laptop and personal (non-bank owned) Windows and OS X devices.

The team is responsible for the integration of a suite of 3 rd -party products, including Good Technology and

MobileIron, with bank-standard web, e-mail, messaging, desktop and application technologies to allow users choice

(multiple mobile platforms) and flexibility ("Bring your own" or bank-managed) whilst always meeting stringent bank

and regulatory security requirements.

Role Summary

DB has an end-user population of approx. 100,000 staff and a large network of additional third-party partner staff,

more than 30,000 of whom leverage the banks mobile technology offerings for e-mail, desktop and application

connectivity from outside the bank's core networks and systems.

The Mobility Engineering team is responsible for the design, engineering development and hand-off to production

support teams of all DB mobile technologies and the infrastructures and management and monitoring tools that

support them.

We are looking for an experienced developer with a background in full-stack development to join the Mobility

Engineering team. Responsibilities will include designing, developing and deploying software to increase automation

of our systems. It involves integration with various standard products, in-house developed software, databases,

messaging systems as well as development of web based admin front ends for these systems.

Role Requirements

Technical skills - essential:

Extensive lead/senior level experience of:

 Server-side programming experience

 Strong PHP skills

 Strong integration knowledge using APIs, especially REST

 Web development skills (HTML, CSS, JS)

 Ability to independently evaluate and propose framework/technologies

 Experience using Agile development methodology

 Scripting knowhow for automation

 Unix/Linux skills including batch scripting

Technical skills - beneficial:

 MySQL or MS SQL Server skills

 Mobile Device Management solutions

 Networking concepts and protocols including IP, routing, networking protocols such as

TLS, SMTP, ActiveSync, RDP and ICA.

 Apple iOS or Google Android device security and management and integration into

enterprise-scale security, administration and technology processes

 Technical knowledge about VPN connectivity solutions

 Advanced security concepts and protocols including certificates/PKI, 2FA, RADIUS and

firewalls

 Enterprise level mobile app projects (evaluation, integration, deployment)

 Automated testing and continuous integration

 LDAP integration

General skills: 

Building on a very strong technical knowledge and experience base in the above areas

candidates must be highly articulate and persuasive communicators, with strong

collaboration and teamwork skills and a proven ability to manage the delivery of innovative

solutions to a large, geographically diverse global enterprise.

Education & qualifications:

Educated to Bachelors or Masters degree level in Computer Science, or a related discipline,

from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience (12 years).

Experience: 

At least 5 years experience in an equivalent senior/lead software developer role in a global,

 Agreeing engineering requirements to achieve Mobility strategy, in conjunction with

other architecture, application development and production management colleagues

 Assisting the Mobility Engineering manager in hiring, managing and developing

engineering talent pool

 Ensuring engineering team and associated deliverables' adherence to bank security,

regulatory, quality standards

 3rd line support for complex issues escalated from production teams
