Role: Storage and Backup Administrator 

Location: Dallas, TX (Local Only)

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

• Provide support for SAN infrastructure builds, migration, design, installation, setup, and administration of SAN disk storage and Fibre Channel Switch systems, continuously striving to provide highly available and efficient storage solutions.  
  
• Provide support to the Windows and various UNIX/Linux environments.
  
• Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues.  
  
• Assist and coordinate problem determination activities with other groups such as Facilities, Server, Database, and Network management.  
  
• Maintain and enhance documentation for hardware, software, and firmware as it relates to configurations, changes, problems, standards, procedures, and processes.  
  
• Experience with SANs and automated backup/recovery systems; including ability to determine performance levels of the entire SAN environment from server to storage. 
  
• Experience with Storage Area Networking (SAN) technology including solid understanding of Fibre Channel, zoning, RAID types, Fan-in/Fan-out, ISL, storage provisioning, LUN management, virtualization and performance management.
  
• Ability to use Storage Management Tools to discover, monitor, build and report on the storage infrastructure.
  
• Experience with switch zoning administration and planning.
  
• Understanding of Storage Networking concepts: SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, LUN Security, CIFS, NFS, data replication, virtualization, and distance extension technologies.
  
• Experience and knowledge of UNIX and Windows operating systems and various data databases, as it relates to SAN management.
  
• Experience with hardware and software storage products and solutions, including Hitachi, Brocade, McData, EMC, HP, IBM and Cisco.
  
• Experience with local and remote site storage replication techniques and technologies.
  
• Experience with VERITAS NetBackup and/or Tivoli Storage Manager with support, troubleshooting and problem resolution for tape backup and SAN environments would be beneficial.
