BI Developer/Reports, Data Analyst for a major Retail/Data company located in St. Louis, (St. Charles). We have an EXCLUSIVE relationship with the hiring manager.
Sr. Business Intelligence Developer will provide technical assistance to facilitate Company's Business Intelligence capability. Additional responsibilities include development, troubleshoot and modify data warehouse-based reports into BI solutions. Develop and maintain Business Intelligence Standards. Provide support to existing BI initiatives and providing technical solutions that solve the Company's business issues.
Qualifications:
• Must have good analytical, conceptual and root cause analysis skills.
• Expert level report developer, using SSRS and SSAS
• Ability to work with business users on requirements, develop appropriate specifications and build reporting objects
• Ability to provide backup administrative support
• Expertise with TSQL coding for MS SQL Server
• Expertise with customizations to the user interface, performance tuning, and navigation
• Expertise installing, upgrading, configuring and administrating MS SQL Server products
• Expertise working with end-users to build reports from concept to implementation
• Expertise creating requirements documentation and technical specifications.
• Expertise with Data Warehousing and Data Marts
• 5-8 years of experience developing and supporting BI systems
• 3-5 years of Microsoft business intelligence stack experience
• Willing to travel as needed up to 10% of the time
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field with coursework in technology-related subjects
• Master's Degree in Information Systems or MBA is a plus
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop visually appealing business intelligence using the Microsoft business intelligence product suite: SSRS, SSAS, Sharepoint, PerformancePoint, PowerPivot, and PowerView.
• Design and develop data cubes and reports that utilize those cubes
• Work with business process owners to develop reporting requirements
• Train process owners to leverage self-service reporting tools and build reports themselves.
• Manage and support the Microsoft SSRS web portal
• Serve as a technical expert on in-house business intelligence/reporting tool solutions
• Provide subject matter expertise, training, and/or development for operational/production reports
• Work with data modeler to develop data mart models, design specifications, and metadata documentation
• Research new BI technologies/ processes and make recommendations to improve companies bottom line
• Work with computer operations to support test and production reporting environments including daily administration, batch processing, configuration management, environment migration, and tool automation
• Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouse initiatives and reporting needs for the business
• Evangelize and provide support for the Microsoft suite of products (SSRS, SSAS, Sharepoint, PerformancePoint, PowerPivot, PowerView) in an enterprise data warehouse
• Support organizational decision-making by turning disparate data into concise and actionable information
• Optimize and maintain existing BI functionality while designing and deploying new solutions
• Pursue continuous improvement of data quality, standardization of data management processes, efficiency, and quality of service Develop and maintain technical specifications and end user documentation of assigned projects and analyses
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures within area of competence.
• Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assignedMentor and train other database administrators across lower level projects.
