Position Description
SharePoint Administrator/Developer

Position Summary
The SharePoint Administrator will provide support to the Grants Management Division of the Arizona Department of Education by gather business requirements and enhancements for the division SharePoint site. The SharePoint Administrator will serve as the subject matter expert on SharePoint for Division users. The ideal candidate must be able to collect business requirements, conduct analysis, and translate into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
• Define best practices and related policies to recommend improvements to operational efficiency
• Analyze current state of Division SharePoint site and make recommendations for redesign
• Utilize existing materials to develop an easy to use on-demand knowledge base/wiki
• Work with a variety of business users to identify and document business processes/requirements and recommend feasible technical solutions
• Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing a variety of documentation including but not limited to flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts
• Streamline forms-driven business processes through implantation of InfoPath Forms Services or similar tool
• Design and implement custom solutions, handle administrative requests, and troubleshoot platform problems
• Develop workflows to automate internal Division business processes
• Design and develop a variety of dashboards and data-driven reports
• Configure SQL Server integration with Division SharePoint site to facilitate data-driven reports and dashboards
• Make suggestions for potential implementation of additional functionalities or tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness of overall appearance, performance, and organization of Division SharePoint site
• Facilitate testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing, customer acceptance of new solutions
• Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Requirements
• 2+ years' experience administering a SharePoint site as an owner or administrator
• Experience creating dashboard sites and implementing SharePoint workflows
• Proven experience with a variety of SharePoint tools including sites, web parts, content types, workflow forms, lists, and libraries
• Experience using SharePoint designer 2010 or newer is highly preferred
• Some exposure to understanding .NET framework is highly preferred
• Experience integrating SQL Server and/or reporting services components to facilitate data driven reporting is required
• Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to think outside of the box to develop effective solutions utilizing available technologies
• Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions
• Ability to excel in a collaborative and distributed team environment
• Ability to work with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues
• Ability to respectfully question ideas and share a point of view with others in support of the business requirements and needs
• Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with all levels of the organizational structure ranging from entry level to senior leadership
