C2C - Java Developer with Strong Big Data Experience - HADOOP - Philadelphia PA - 1 year contract
Developer with Strong Big Data Experience.
This position is for a software developer to play a key role in the design and development of the program recommendations engine. This person would join a team responsible for processing Big Data amounts of TV usage data, along with program metadata, and generating, for millions of users, recommendations for what to watch. The ideal candidate will be accomplished in Java development and have experience with Hadoop.
In addition to several years' experience developing commercial software, we're looking for:
1. Excellent core Java knowledge and skills
2. Experience with Map-Reduce; expert-level knowledge desirable
3. Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with common computer science algorithms and concepts
4. Experience in Unix/Linux software development
5. Experience with agile software development process Excellent communication skills
