Looking for Java platform Engineer, MA

Job Title: Platform Engineer (Java)

Location: Lexington, MA

Duration: 6+ Months

Only Local Candidates required....Face to Face Interview

 

Skills & Requirements:

1.       7-10+ years of object oriented programming experience, including Java and Scala

2.       Amazon Web Services (AWS)

3.       5 - 7+ years of relevant experience with design, development, and testing of large scale, multi-tenant distributed systems in a SaaS environment

4.       Experience designing and implementing REST APIs for use by both internal and external developers

5.       Strong knowledge of algorithms and ability to calculate running time (big O) of solutions in distributed systems

6.       Experience designing and developing n-tier systems

7.       Familiarity with common message queueing software (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ), web frameworks (Play! Framework, Spring MVC), and application containers (tomcat, jetty, nginx)

8.       Knowledge of security/access control, scalability, high availability, concurrency

9.       Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

10.   Proficient in major development tools and processes, such as source control (e.g. SVN, Git), IDE (e.g., Eclipse, IntelliJ), JUnit test, debugging, profiling, Jira, Continuous Delivery

11.   Strong knowledge of Unix systems

12.   Proficient in applying common design patterns

13.   Experience with agile development, continuous integration and automated testing

14.   Flexibility and bandwidth to deal with a novel, dynamic and fast-paced environment

 

Bonus Points:

1.       Experience with Docker

2.       Continuous deployment skills

3.       Knowledge of Kafka/Camus/HDFS flow

4.       Open source project contributions

 

Education Required:

1.       Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or related field
