Title: Data Analyst
Location: New York City (Midtown)
Duration: 6 months, possibly longer

Job Description:
Analyst will support the Senior DQ Measurement Manager to conduct analysis of profiling and metrics results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· This position requires someone who has experience analyzing data sets or data results (e.g. profiling results, results reporting) to draw inferences and identify adherence, or lack thereof, to business requirements.
o For Example: Candidate should be able to determine in the database that there are similar dates for a large number of securities and identify if that is related to any other patterns within the data. (e.g. Date of record is set to when a tranche of securities was purchased via acquisition of a portfolio from another bank).
· Needs to be able to interface with end business users to:
o Educate them on how the profiling was done on the data and what rules were applied
o Articulate data findings in a manner that is understandable to a business team. Also, they will need to work with the business team to confirm or modify requirements and rules based on the findings.
§ For Example: Candidate should be able to explain that there is a pattern seen within the securities and be able to explain if that pattern does or does not match provided requirements or if it should be a new requirement.
· A general knowledge of Financial products and concepts is needed to interact with end business users.
· The user should have experience working with data within databases and reporting tools.
o For Example: The candidate should be able to write SQL Statements to pull data from a database.
· The user should have the ability to write data rules in a manner that is easily understood and implementable by a technical team.
o For example: Candidate should be able to write rules such as: IF SECURITY_TYPE = "Purchased" then DT_Of_Rec = DT_Of_Purch
· It is an added benefit or Nice to have if the Candidate has experience with:
o Data quality concepts and processes.
o Bug tracking tools such as (e.g. HP Quality Center, RTC)
· About 5+ years of experience required
· This role will work with the Chief Data Office (CDO) business and function leads to review data analysis results as well as create and/or modify business requirements and rules.
· Experience working as a data analyst, financial modeler, statistician
· Good understanding of data management practices
· Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services (Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets) business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance
· Previous experience with data quality tools preferred or nice to have
Skill, Experience & General information required:
Basic Technical Requirements:
· Experience with data quality tools preferred or nice to have
· Ability to conduct analysis on the data using database querying, excel, and other methods
· Ability to write data rules using pseudocode
Desirable Skills:
· Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services (Banking, Wealth Management, and Capital Markets) business processes and resultant information needs: client, risk / regulatory / finance
