Job Summary:
5+ years of cross-platform experience in systems administration, including analyzing, installing, maintaining, upgrading, troubleshooting, and patching of operating systems, repairing hardware, software, and, peripheral as needed, methodical troubleshooting and technical support abilities with migrations, network connectivity, security and database applications.
Develop exceptional relationships with co-workers, management and end users.
Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of operating systems, such as Windows Server 2012, 2008, 2003, Windows XP, 7, 8, 10.
Installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of Linux/Unix operating systems, such as Red Hat, SLES, CentOS, Ubuntu - HP-UX and AIX are a plus.
Storage support including RAID, SAN, and DFS File Server
Resolve customer reported issues and inquiries locally or remotely using a HP Service Manager ticketing system and/or route to the appropriate team as needed.
Maintain records of daily communications, document problems, configuration information and resolution
End-user support for SharePoint, Skype for business, office 365, Antivirus solutions, Avaya Phone system.
Understanding of VMware Cluster in order to maintain and manage virtual systems environments
Imaging Experience using SWIMAGE and Acronis
Troubleshooting of network related issues and the ability to quickly isolate and solve issues
Providing technical assistance to other team members
Read technical manuals, conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve
Develop training materials, documentation, procedures and train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
Responsible for daily walk-trough of data center and telco rooms to monitor hardware failure activity and daily monitoring of system alerts.
Must be able to provide on-call customer support on a rotating basis
Candidates must be able to occasionally move and lift computer equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with Linux and/or Unix Operating Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Certifications in relevant technical fields are preferred but not required
Excellent troubleshooting skills and problem solving resourcefulness
A Self-starter/self-directed professional that leads with high energy and passion
Effective facilitation, communication and teaching skills
Ability to understand and apply analytical and statistics tools and approaches to work
Ability to multitask and handle large workloads under time constraints
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
Ability to be detail oriented and a team player that can also work with little supervision
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, other language abilities are a plus
Experience with Windows-based operating systems including troubleshooting and installation
Experience with TCP/IP network troubleshooting in distributed client/server environments
Knowledge of LAN/WAN internetworking and protocols.
