Required Skills:
The UNIX Engineering team is responsible for designing and implementing Linux infrastructure for Morgan Stanley's distributed systems. The group is involved in evaluation, certification, integration, and maintenance of numerous products, including hardware, Operating Systems (Red Hat Linux and Solaris), Virtualization platforms, configuration systems, services (DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.), file systems, and a variety of in-house developed tools.
The Virtualization group within UNIX Engineering is responsible for the core Virtualization and cloud strategy and products. The group is working on the next generation of management tools for the Virtualization platform. The candidate must be skilled with one of the mainstream configuration management systems, have experience with their virt/cloud extensions, and UNIX/Linux background.
Skills Required:
* Knowledge in one the following: Chef, Puppet, Salt Stack, Ansible, CFEngine, or Quattor
* Experience with Virtualization Technology and/or Containers
* Strong Perl or Python development skill
* Experience with building Scalable Architecture
* Understands how to efficiently use a database and analyze queries
* Understands fundamental Linux/UNIX concepts
* Thought leader and strong communicator of ideas
Skills Desired
* Git and familiar with code review tools like Gerrit or Atlassian tooling
* Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment Methodologies
* Contributor to open source project(s)
* Open Stack
* KVM/QEMU and Libvirt
