POSITION DESCRIPTION: Technical Leads must be able to identify strategic opportunities to keep Citco poised as an industry leader. The candidate must be an expert in Oracle data warehouse data modeling, development of optimized integration solutions, and an expert code craftsman, ideally with some expertise in additional procedural languages. The candidate must have experience defining and delivering enterprise data solutions in complex environments, including complex application integration solutions. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONS:
The Team Lead will liaise with all members of the project team, and is the tip of the pyramid for development expertise, while providing coaching to the development team. Frequent interactions include business representatives, business analysts, developers, quality assurance testers and infrastructure teams. This position reports to the Enterprise Data Warehouse Manager
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Team Lead must have strong professional consulting skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization. This person will be the lead in architecting, and developing the Citco enterprise data warehouse. The role will help define development standards, lead code reviews and architecture review meetings.
Provide support for engagement scoping, defining the deliverable approach and work closely with project managers to define deliverable scope
Proficiency with data warehouse design, optimization and working on parallel database platforms such as Exadata
Provide guidance, coaching, leadership, to more Jr. developers
Probe, diagnose, and provide designs and implementation approaches for business problems
Provide technical and delivery oversight across multiple projects
Provide technical leadership across Citco cross functional teams
Establish and maintain technical / strategic relationships with teams within Citco, and business teams
Required Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT or Computer Science from a recognized University
10 years' experience in software development (PL/SQL, Shell, ETL), on Oracle data warehouse platforms, ideally in addition to application integration experience
5 years' experience hands on implementing data warehouse/data marts & data integration services solutions
Experience with MPP technologies with proven projects on these platforms
Strong understanding and experience in following SDLC processes. Providing support and leadership to team members to ensure predictable delivery with either waterfall or Agile development approaches
Play a technology leadership role, and work closely with BI architects, data modelers, and DBAs to deliver a well architected and scalable data warehouse
Researches and recommends technical solutions to complex data warehouse technical issues
Ensures solutions are functionally and technically sound
Performs quality assurance and design review functions, and is accountable for team output quality
Solid data warehouse with broad understanding of the finance domain
Database performance tuning experience
Nice to Have:
Experience with ETL tools such as ODI
Knowledge in additional procedural languages such as Java
Knowledge of Business Intelligence Tools: Tableau , Qlikview, Tibco Spotfire, SAP BOBJ
Knowledge of in-memory databases: Oracle, SAP, MemSQL, Actian
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
Experience working with Business Intelligence and Big Data solutions
