Position                : Cloud DevOps Engineer – Cloud Centre of Excellence

Location               : Dallas/ St Louis

Duration              : 6-12 Months

 

Job Requirement & Technical Skills Required:

 

As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the Cloud Center of Excellence technical team to automate and define development processes for Proof of Concepts and Customer Solutions. 

As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong technical experience in the areas of Release Management, Virtualization and Cloud Architecture, Software development, testing, and deployment automation.

 

Qualifications:

TECHNICAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND EDUCATION:

·         Education - Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent

·         Extensive experience in Linux

·         Extensive experience in IP Networking and troubleshooting

·         Extensive experience in scripting and automation

·         Extensive experience in the development and the maintenance of system automation & management tools

·         Experience managing public and private cloud infrastructure

·         Experience creating system, process and workflow documentation

·         Provide technical support for all aspect of the infrastructure / help developers in debugging, troubleshooting and optimizing online software components and tools

·         Experience working with agile delivery teams to ensure build management, automated testing and software deployment

·         Experience working closely with hosting companies and datacenters to improve the service delivery throughout the business

·         Experience in capacity planning, resolving issues and bottlenecks,  and forecasting resource requirements

·         Experience monitoring system health and security

·         Script, manage, configure and tailor monitoring solutions and respond to incidents

Must Have Skills:

·         Proven experience in working in IT technical support and experience in supporting private or public cloud infrastructures, virtualized systems

·         Strong Linux system administration background

·         System automation experience regarding deployment and configuration management.

·         Experience in supporting software development

·         Hands-on experience with more of the following components: hadoop, apache, nginx, mysql, postgres, mongo, haproxy

·         Experience in designing/managing highly available systems, distributed systems, clustering

·         Managing monitoring and alerting systems, central logging, log analytics, backup and archive solutions

·         Service orchestration experience

·         In-depth knowledge of big data processing solutions, architectures, system components.

·         Competent programming or scripting background in one or more of the following languages: bash, php, python, trafficscript, tcl, javascript, perl

·         Solid networking background and experience with network troubleshooting

·         Strong focus on business outcomes and a service provider attitude

Nice to Have Skills:

·         Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR experience in production environment

·         Active involvement in cloud auto-scaling solution development

·         Experience in continuous integration/continuous delivery

·         Docker container build and management

·         In-depth Puppet/Chef/Ansible knowledge

·         Hybrid cloud experience with scale out to AWS, RackSpace, Azure or other public cloud.

·         Working with high traffic web applications and dynamic scaling

·         Experience with any of nagios, zabbix, logicmonitor, observer, cacti, munin, logstash, syslog-ng, greylog

·         Involvement in deploying juju, maas, cobbler or other provisioning solutions

·         OpenStack installation and management experience

·         Knowledge of Ericsson cloud related portfolio and offering (ECS/ECM/EVA/etc.)

·         Cloud or Virtualization certifications
