Role: SQL SERVER/ ETL Developer

Location: La Jolla (San Diego), CA

Duration: 6+ months

Interview: Phone, F2F, Wonderlic Online assessment (all items required, no skype)

 

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled individual to fill the role of ETL Developer.  Ideal candidates will be fast learners who are not afraid to take on new challenges, have proven track record of embracing technology which may include being highly skilled in one or more programming languages. Looking for individuals that show an aptitude to learn and master skills with creative problem solving ability and communicate complex concepts in in a simple manner.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2005\2008R2 or later.
• 5+ years' experience writing complex T-SQL code.
• 5+ years' experience developing data integration processes using ETL methodologies.
• 5+ years' experience working with SSIS in Microsoft Visual Studio or BIDS.
• 2+ years' experience using Microsoft SSRS.
• Proven track record delivering results in the .NET environment
• Bachelors Degree in CS or related field (MS Certs are a plus)
• Experience developing and implementing Data Warehouse, ODS and BI Tools.
• Strong knowledge of data and the unique challenges experienced with working large data sets (100s of millions or billions).
• Strong background in data analysis.
• Firm grasp of relational database theory, data modeling and data warehousing best practices.

Typical duties include:

• Design and create databases, star schemas, fact and dimension tables.
• Ensure that data warehouse and operational data store have appropriate data and are optimized.
• Develop logical and physical data flow models for ETL applications. Translates data access, transformation and movement requirements into functional requirements and mapping designs.
• Plan and conduct ETL unit and development tests; monitor results and take corrective action, when necessary.
• Oversee basic and advanced transformation activities such as normalization, cleansing, aggregation, summarizing, and integration.
• Design automation processes to control data access, transformation and movement; ensures source system data availability and update accessibility, data integrity, restorability and appropriately handles errors, in a time sensitive manner.
• Collect, extract, and analyze data stored in the Enterprise Data Warehouse via T-SQL, SSRS, Excel, and other various Microsoft BI tools.
• Research and recommend technology solutions related to data storage, reporting, integrations and other areas.
• Work with Business Analysts to translate data requirements into logical data models
• Troubleshoot issues related to the enterprise data systems
