Role: Teradata DBA

Work Location: Franklin TN

Duration : 6+ Months

Technical/Functional Skills :-

•Good understanding and hands on experience in logical data modeling and data warehouse concepts

•In-depth experience in deriving optimized physical data models from the logical data model provided

•In-depth experience in security administration using roles and profiles mechanism

•Hands on experience on performance tuning of complex SQL's

•In-depth knowledge of Teradata utilities such as Multi load, Fastexport, BTEQ, Fastload and TPump

•Solid understanding of Teradata client tools such as SQL Assistant, Performance Monitor, Teradata Manager and Teradata Administrator

•Teradata Certification would be a plus

•Familiarity with Informatica ETL tool

•Healthcare Provider domain experience is a plus

Roles & Responsibilities

•Responsible for design, development and administration of large scale analytical & transactional Teradata environment.

•Logical data modeling, physical database design, implementation and testing of large scale Teradata database structures

•Create users, establish roles, create database structures and understand how to get the Teradata database to perform well

•Provide quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate data usage

•Support the development teams with design, implementation and performance tuning of new and existing applications

•Work with developers promoting their code and solving day to day issues

•Understand and communicate principles and design tradeoffs for a mix of Teradata databases

•Map business requirements into system requirements

•Shell and Batch scripting

•Software installs and upgrades
