Role: Java Developer/.NET Developer with strong Database experience
Location: San Diego - CA
Duration: 6 Months
Client: Verizon
Note: Must be local to San Diego, CA and have some experience in .NET or Java programming with database experience.
Skills:
The Application Support Engineer / Tier 3 Customer Support Staff is an experienced technical professional that:
•Troubleshoots and resolves corporate hosted server application and system issues
•Interacts directly with operations staff and customers around issues
•Creates and integrates new monitoring and alerting solutions
•Develops tools, scripts & automation to speed support & repair work,
•Coaches Enterprise Customer developers on best use of the API,
•Helps the team to support new customers and products.
The M2M Platform Engineer is responsible for Production and Triage support. Other core responsibilities include: 1) Working continuously on improving the systems, application, and infrastructure, as well as processes, 2) Maintain a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in database and data store, NOSQL, caching, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies, 3) Proactively monitor production system and identify areas of improvements, and 5) Carry out proactive maintenance of the services and data store systems.
Required Skills:
• Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on and practical experience with the Java or .NET platforms and technologies:
• Java & J2EE: Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, SQL, JMS, Servlet, JSP, JMX, Web Services, SOAP, Rest
• C#/.NET - WCF custom transport
• ANT, Maven, JUnit, Hudson
• Windows, IIS, Linux, MS SQL Server, TIBCO JMS, JBoss, Tomcat, JMeter
• Enterprise systems integration.
• TCP/IP networking and general mobile communications, theories and practices.
Additional requirements:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 4-10 years experience of software development cycle.
DESIRED SKILLS:
• Master's Degree (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) or equivalent experience
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Strong networking and telecommunication experience
• Experience with NoSQL or Big Data solutions.
• Practical experiences with Agile & Scrum and the general software lifecycle are highly desirable.
You will be part of the full-time on-call staff that handles provides 24x7 technical support for software applications to customers and internal stakeholders.
