ETL Developer
Reports to the Manager, Analytic Data Development & Delivery

Purpose of this position:
This position will work on a short-term project (6 month duration) as part of a project team of 5-6 peer developers.  The candidate will primarily be responsible for writing new ETL jobs gathering data from multiple data warehouses and systems and loading them cleanly to a single data warehouse.
The ideal candidate has very strong technical ETL skills with a core strength in building new ETL jobs in SyncSort's DMExpress ETL software.
For this candidate to be successful they need to work well with minimal direction, handling technical problems by proactively working with their peers and other technical leaders. This candidate needs to work well in team environments and ambiguous conditions.

Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Coding Extract Transform and Load (ETL) jobs to meet specific business objectives, primarily using the SyncSort DMExpress tool
• Leading the technical design, development, testing and implementation of ETL solutions that source data from multiple disparate systems, in a variety of formats/quality, and cleanly loading into the destination database(s)
• Leading ETL defect resolution activities found during testing
• Automating ETL processes
• Creating audit checks that confirm ETL packages are capturing all needed data and confirming no data is lost
• Participating in design sessions, code review sessions, and planning sessions with peers.

Basic Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven ETL development skills
• Experience in DMExpress
• Strong communication and time management skills.

• Ability to function effectively as part of a team
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to understand and follow directions

Education and work experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or similar

• 1 to 3 years experience using SyncSort's DMExpress ETL software
• 3+ years overall ETL experience (SSIS, etc…)
• Nice to have: Knowledge of Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, Database (SQL Server, Informix)
