 (GC/Citizens and Locals)

Position: Java developer

Location: Dallas, TX.

Duration: 6 months

Start: Immediate

Communication: Strong

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in strategic initiatives relating to system development and enhancements
• Contribute to system delivery specifications and technical design specifications.
• Develop and test the components as per the specification 
• Participate in all phases of projects.
• Manage individual tasks and deliverables in order to complete projects on schedule.
• Execute on design and development consistent with approved enterprise architecture concepts, principles and frameworks.
• Work closely with the other technology departments within Fidelity Investments

 

Skills and Knowledge:

Required to have "hands on" proven experience and expertise in object oriented design and development in the following technical areas:

o     Programming and Frameworks – Java / JEE, XML processing frameworks, Spring frameworks and Java Script framework

o     Applied experience and familiarity with the following is a desired:

§   Development Frameworks – Spring framework, Apache frameworks, jaxb or equivalent,

§   Build/Dependency Management – Maven or Ant

·         Security Frameworks – Web service Security and Java Security

·         Web services Framework – AXIS2 or Apache CFX

§         Web Servers- Tomcat and/or other JEE Application Servers

§         Database – ORM frameworks like Hibernate/myBatis. Familiarly with Oracle, PL/SQL Stored Procedures

§         Operating Systems and Environments – Unix/Linux, Windows

·         Application Architecture and Design – Enterprise Integration Patterns; Object Oriented Programming; Aspect Oriented Programming; Java Design Patterns; SOA Architecture/Design

 

 

 

The Java Developer will have:

• Proven ability in application design and development of enterprise solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and the ability to clearly receive and convey information to a broad array of technical and non-technical people
• Expert understanding of the software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning
• Understanding in User Interface design and web based technologies
• Understanding in service oriented development and best practices
• Deep understanding of distributed systems
• Bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Science; MS is preferred
• Understanding of Financial Services and Asset Management Industry is a plus
• Understanding/Experience developing and designing in an Agile methodology preferred.
• Technical leadership and decision making abilities preferred.
