Java UI Developer
Philadelphia, PA
6+months contract

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements, and desirability of Web sites
Must have demonstrated skills in graphic applications such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS along with other tools applicable authoring tools, Web production, front-end development using programming and scripting languages
Follows approved life cycle methodologies in order to create, design, document, and perform program coding and testing. Agile development experience is a plus.
Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
Collaborate with team members to ensure high level customer service is being achieved accordingly
Must be able to perform usability tests, provide design prototypes and provide ad hoc user interface consulting.
Responsible for requirements gathering and articulation of user interface issues—including
Development of page/site prototypes.
Must be able to integrate design into program rules and system architecture and create innovative approaches to improving the end-user experience.
Must be familiar with platform/browser compatibility and basic usability issues.
Ensure all deliverables are being met in a timely fashion and with high quality

 

Technical Requirements and Must-Haves:
3-5 years of Java Development experience and must have strong front-end development experience
Typically has 3 - 5 years of combined IT and graphic design experience.
Able to understand HTML and strong working knowledge of Web generators and photographic libraries, HTML 5 experience is highly desirable
Possesses a portfolio of Web sites or solutions
Mobile development experience highly preferred
JavaScipt exposure is extremely benefical
Back-end Java development skills recommended as they have additional resources to support the back-end development
Collaboration tools experience preferred such as WCF and TFS
Clarity and Nimsoft tool experience, or related software, would be highly preferred as this individual will be interfacing with these tools

 

Other Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Graphic Design, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
Keen eye for detail
Ability to work autonomously
Strong work ethic and drive to get the job done
Good communication skills
