Job Description
Job Summary:
The Sr. Solutions Architect will (Sr. SA) effectively penetrate and drive solutions within targeted accounts and expand penetration in existing accounts. The position requires an acute understanding of both the technology and business objectives of the account to enable the delivery of solutions that will in turn contribute to the success of existing accounts and the acceleration of new customer volume. The Sr. SA will speak from experience and offer insight on successes and failures relative to the customer’s industry and/or objectives. In addition, they will:
· Be a solution provider enhancing the engagement with customers and prospects in new business opportunities.
· Define and implement sales strategies to outperform quota assignments while delivering new sources of revenue to the business unit.
· Demonstrate strong competencies in multiple technology areas including; Compute, Storage, Networking and Virtualization technology concepts and how they relate to the next generation of Data Center solutions and Cloud offerings.
· Develop and work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope, exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a technology solution.
· Act as a project leader providing direction, facilitating information and validating decision processes.
· Have a passion for Technology and be dedicated to providing solutions to organizations with integrity and a keen appreciation of the business and technical requirements.
Required Skills
Required Skills and Experience:
· Seven or more years of verifiably successful professional Business-to-Business solutions selling experience.
· Ten or more years of Network, Storage and Infrastructure (Data Center, etc.) experience. A strong understanding of leading manufactures routing and switching architecture; and experience with storage and virtualization products from leading manufactures.
· Must demonstrate a strong understanding of Converged Infrastructure concepts and the benefits that Cloud solutions provide.
· Must have the ability to architect end-to-end solutions and have hands-on experience setting up, maintaining and expanding large scale heterogeneous environments.
· 6+ years’ experience in architecting, designing, migrating, troubleshooting, and implementing Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and XenServer technologies (including legacy versions such as Citrix MF XP, PS 3.x, 4.x etc.)
· 2+ years’ experience in performing configuration, testing and implementation of Citrix NetScaler HA and LB
· 1+ year experience of Appsense products including environment manager
· Excellent time management, communication, prioritization and negotiation skills.
· Account planning skills with experience in up-sell and cross-sell strategies.
· Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate the value proposition.
· Excellent C-level presentation skills.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (advanced degree preferred)
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating Citrix Xen (XA, XD & XS) solutions for HCL’s sales to sell as a standard offering and delivery to implement these solutions. Solutions creation and standardization of the solution responsibilities includes:
· Creation of design and reference architectures for given scenarios
· Driving the development of those solutions and the integration aspects
· Working with multiple vendors on testing their products in HCL lab and vendor provided labs
· Testing of the solution and Piloting
· Design and create technology best practices for audit, compliance and operational improvements
· Working with the lab manager and ensuring lab is setup for various Proof of Concepts and demonstrations to customers for selling these solutions
· Work with the Citrix SMEs in the Workplace Technologies team to drive the above activities
· Ability to architect, design and implementation of resilient, reliable and secure application, desktop and server virtualization
Desired Professional Certifications: HP, Cisco, EMC, Dell Server and Storage, Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, IBM Server and Storage.
Practical Experience with:
· HP, Dell, IBM and Cisco Blade and Rack Servers systems and related storage products
· Enterprise Storage Arrays: HP, EMC, IBM, Dell (Compellent, Equalogic)
· Storage Archiving Solutions
· VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft products
· Experience with a Microsoft Enterprise environment
· Exposure to a Linux or AIX Enterprise environment
· Data Center consolidation and Cloud solutions
· Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
· Strong knowledge of MS Windows XP, 7, 200x, including web servers, Clustering and AD
· Experience of working within a professional services consultancy environment or managed service provider.
