Sr. Business Intelligence Architect

Description
The Senior Data Warehouse Architect maintains a leadership role within the group. This includes guiding members in the group for the direction of the Data Warehouse. This means, he/she is responsible for providing answers to questions to junior member and leadership by example for the below skills. The senior role is ultimately responsible for problems that arise within the overall Data Warehouse and its processes, particularly dealing with Oracle Business Intelligence and Hyperion. This role has the ability to resolve problems, provide support, give direction and show leadership throughout the Business Intelligence lifecycle. Also, this role must also have the ability to communicate and relate to management and discuss issues pertaining to the data and well-being of the Business Intelligence lifecycle. Technically, this role includes the skills to develop, as well as, maintain any of the systems on the backend. This includes installations, setup, configuration and coding. This role must know Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems. This role needs ability to setup Oracle client tools to enable communication to the database. Other responsibilities include configuring complex Oracle systems (Oracle client tools, OS setup, configuration of ETL tools, modeling of data warehouse tables, setup of logical data model, administration of WebLogic, and setup and configuration of web server with front end reporting tools.
Duties
Essential Functions • Plan, design, prepare, install, customize, and coordinate complex enterprise systems • Lead and mentor analysts and junior developers • Conduct comprehensive analysis of enterprise systems concepts, design, and test requirements • Select, adapt, and apply sophisticated analytical techniques, including simulation, throughput analysis, and similar methodologies • Design and development of complex code and ETL data • Implement standards that are accepted and utilized • Govern how code (pl/sql and ETL) is written and implemented • Create and implement a security model that complies with company auditing standards • Administer worldwide Business Intelligence systems and how different cultures access the system • Architect the physical and logical design and how they are implemented • Responsible for the overall monitoring of the ETL and reporting system (Informatica, Business Intelligence, and Hyperion) • Meets with management to discuss the needs and goals of the department and company • Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs • Researches, evaluates and recommends enabling software design practices, trends, and related technologies • Actively engages in prototyping and proof-of-concept activities that enhance decision making process and reduce overall risks. • Writes, maintains and communicates enterprise standards on software development practices, best patterns and standards documentation to describe application development, • Leads and facilitates code review processes
Qualifications
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent, experience • Ten plus years of experience in application design and development, with minimum of five years' experience mentoring others, leading development and design of large scale business applications • Extensive knowledge of Data Warehouse design and methodologies (i.e. Kimball / Inmon) • Demonstrable, broad experience in leading the development and adoption of software development standards, design patterns and best practices • Experience with DBMS (i.e. Oracle) and working with data • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex issues in an Enterprise environment • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering high-quality solutions on time, on budget that exceeded the original business needs • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in both Data Warehouse life cycles and Agile software development life-cycles • Strong experience in object oriented design and development • Experience working with technology platforms such as BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, Informatica, Microsoft based technologies, ERP, various Integrations technologies • Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and ideas • Ability to manage complexity and stress
