Role: TCO Consultant
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: 6+ months
Required Skills and Competencies:
• This position will reside within our Performance & Capacity management organization and will include work with products such as the BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization, TrueSight Operations Management, BMC Capacity Optimization and BMC Performance Assurance (BPA).
• Fundamental understanding of the functionality of BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization solutions and architecture along with different Integration methods.
• Functional understanding of software integrations and software systems experience with Web services and API.
• Support senior resources in the successful design and implementation in capacity Optimization of Servers, network and Storage architecture that has been configured to meet client requirements and adheres to best practices for the following criteria:
1. Performance and response time
2. Capacity and growth
3. High availability and failover
4. Disaster and recovery
5. Security
Experience/Education Required/Technologies:
• At least four years of enterprise Capacity & management solutions experience.
• Must be able to read and understand a technical architecture that spans multiple platforms and Data Centers and deploy software products as dictated by the plan with little or no supervision.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn BMC's business and a desire for both personal and professional growth.
• Advanced level understanding of an industry standard structured language like Perl, Java and Unix Shell Scripting. Knowledge in Virtualization technologies, UNIX/Linux, Windows, Databases, Applications, Middleware & Web Servers.
• Familiarity with firewalls, load balancers and SAN technologies.
• Recent, demonstrable experience with BMC's Performance and Availability suite of products, including BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization, TrueSight Operations Management, TrueSight App Visibility Manager, TrueSight Infrastructure Management (formerly known as BPPM or ProactiveNet).
• Data analysis skills using tools like Excel.
