SCOPE:

Planning & Design

Requirements gathering and review of existing environment

Execute EMC host grabs / reports

Host interoperability and compatibility review

Identify HBA hardware, driver, firmware requirements

Identify PowerPath/multi-pathing software requirements

Identify OS version and/or patch level requirements

VMAX and SAN Design Workbook (DWB) development and documentation

HP 3PAR Hosts

20 Physical Oracle & SQL clusters

71 ESX - 186 Datastores

Identify, document, and submit VMAX BIN file requirements

Conduct formal design review session and obtain customer sign-off

Storage Implementation

Coordinate Installation of VMAX hardware and base configuration – EMC to perform hardware installation, BIN file configuration, and BIN file loading

SAN connectivity of VMAX engines

Install management software and eLicenses (SE, SMC, Zones, GKs, etc.)

Configure VMAX Virtual Pools and TDEVs (migration targets) per DWB

Configure VMAX Provisioning (IGs, SGs, PGs, MVs) per DWB to support ESX data migration

Configure VMAX eNAS per DWB to support migration from VNX

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

Update DWB to include any changes made to the design during implementation

Conduct knowledge transfer to address any questions or knowledge gaps from the implementation
