Big Data DevOps Engineer

Job Description: The candidate will serve as the Big Data DevOps Engineer responsible for developing solutions to automating software delivery, automating server administration, and testing in a Big Data application used within a large corporation located in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a DevOps engineer in a Hadoop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administration and Schema migrations
- Working with the developers to develop automation tools
- High volume load testing
- API Development
- Planning/optimization of the data streams
- QA testing
Required Job Skills:
- 5+ years of Strong development experience in Java6+
- 5+ years' experience developing in-house tools & scripts in Big Data environment
- 3+ years serving in a DevOps role
- Strong experience in Junit, Jenkins, Git, Mokito, Linux, Database (heavy emphasis on administration and schema migrations), Logstash / Elasticsearch / Kibana, Java, Python
- Must have experience with one of the following: Salt, Ansible, Chef or Puppet
- Basic understanding of statistics – mean, mode, outlier box plot etc.…
Preferred Job Skills:
- Previous experience with Graph data bases a real plus
- Experience with Docker, Vagrant, OpenStack, Hadoop
- Previous experience with NoSQL databases
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
