Must-haves :
- 7-10 years of Network Engineer experience
- Experience working in an enterprise sized Juniper environment
- High level of routing experience and router configuration
- CISCO IOS XR experience
Plusses :
- CCNP or CCIE
- Experience with a cable provider
Day-to-Day :
Our client is looking for a Network Engineer with a CCNP, or equivalent level of experience, having a background in large and complex network environments, such as service provider, finance, defense, or hospital/health care organizations. This individual will be performing business as usual network capacity augment work on a complex, large scale service provider network. The individual in this role will take high level designs provided by an architecture team and build the detailed designs and write a maintenance procedure to make changes to a variety of Cisco and Juniper networking devices which will be implemented by a network operations team. The role will entail using various IP and network management tools to complete the detailed design, while interacting with other teams to organize the implementation of the capacity augment. This position is in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment, and as such will require the candidate to be dynamic, have an ability to quickly learn, communicate clearly and effectively, as well as work well with a team and independently. The tasks involved in this position will require the Network Engineer to be self-motivated and organized, while working rapidly and accurately. The candidate for this role will have solid expertise in writing and interpreting Cisco IOS configurations and understanding how changes on a router affect the operations of a network as a whole.
