Quality Assurance Engineer

Eagan MN

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related software technology field, or demonstrated job experience equating to a degree is preferred

• 3 years of experience with various technologies and languages such as Java/J2EE, Java script, xml and html

• 3 years of experience with design and QA testing

• Experience with unit testing tools such as JUnit, Selenium, Ranorex, Spock

• Strong oral and written communication skills

 

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who has solid technical credentials. The position is for a Sr. QA Engineer within the Editorial & Content Technology - Strategic Judicial Systems – Judicial Workbench (JWB) team. In this critical role, you will collaborate with key business and technical personnel to implement solutions. We utilize Agile practices, with close, daily cooperation between the business, PMs, testers, architects, and developers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

• Design, develop, deploy, execute, and maintain automated tests

• Gather, document, understand user requirements and acceptance criteria in collaboration with development and business

• Create and extend systems to allow for flexibility, stability, and scalability, while preserving existing functionality and Return on Investment (ROI)

• Deliver the creation of test automation with strong skills in IU tools such as Selenium and Ranorex

• Deliver the creation of test automation with strong skills in coding languages and frameworks such as Java and Spock

• Define and adhere to test estimates and timelines

• Collaborate effectively in a team environment with other testers, PMs, developers, business users, and internal technical contacts

• Timely communication of status to project leaders

• Recognize and communicate opportunities to add value and efficiency of testing through the application of technology solutions; innovate

• Create and maintain software testing infrastructure and environments

• Diagnoses and resolve technical and operational problems on installed networks, systems or products.

• Effectively balance and prioritize multiple deliverables concurrently

• Provide technical leadership to the project for decisions, best practices, and industry trends

• Provide technical knowledge and leadership to fellow team members; mentor less senior personnel

• Escalates software process or quality issues to leadership

• Lead efforts for continuous improvement and sustainability
