Role: Teradata Architect
Location: Westchester, PA
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description:
Should have telecom/Internet industry experience.
Perform proactive monitoring of Teradata DB
Database security administration: Maintain profiles, roles, access rights and permissions for Teradata user groups and objects
System administration activities: Create, modify, and delete UNIX/Linux user-ids and passwords
Backup and Restore (BAR) operations
Participate in the planning and upgrades of software, check for patches, updates
Teradata metrics collection and reporting: Generate weekly and monthly space and resource usage report, monthly performance report
Identify and report on spool & table skews
Perform weekly activities on checktable, packdisk, scandisk, DBQL Data purge, access logging etc
Plan, coordinate and administer media utilization (rotation, reuse, expiration)
Identify, analyze and tune heavy spooled out and skewed queries and ETL jobs
