Description: This position is responsible for the planning, development, analysis, and implementation of procedures and/or processes to design a sequence of steps for processing data through code. Knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems to evaluate requests for new or modified programs, systems, or databases to determine feasibility, resource requirements, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities; locating and correcting program errors; testing, enhancing, maintaining and documenting the coded instructions for a variety of programs and systems; and may plan or direct the modification of programs to process data and solve data, database, system, or report problems.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Equivalent working experience
· Experience with data reporting, data mining, presentation and documentation of analytical methods related to healthcare data; Experience with financial dashboards.
· Experience consulting with management, business customers and systems analysis personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and determine extent of programming and coding required.
· 4 years of information technology experience working on mainframe systems.
· 4 years of experience with relational database technology.
· 4 years of experience in a job requiring analysis with healthcare information data analysis.
· 4 years of experience with SQL, Access, APL or other relational database systems tools.
· 4 years of experience in system development and programming.
· Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
· Planning and organization skills needed
· Teamwork and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency using Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
· Financial Analysis Experience – Strongly Preferred.
· Strong Excel – strong formula knowledge for manipulating and managing large volumes of data.
· Visual Basic knowledge – Preferred, not required.
· COGNOS – some knowledge
· Data Architecture – some knowledge
· Visio
· Experience writing business requirements for systems design.
· Self driven
· SQL Server and/or Teradata experience writing complex queries to extract large amounts of health care data from a data warehouse
