POSITION
QA Tester
San Diego, CA (Must be local to CA)
Long Term Contract (12+ months)
Phone and F2F
Must Haves: Loan/Mortgage experience, quality center experience
Job Responsibilities:
* Develop test plans and execute tests for major and minor updates to our software programs including but not limited to our lending and imaging platforms.
* Perform all aspects of testing including functional, regression, load, performance and system testing.
* Facilitate user acceptance testing with end-users as needed.
* Create and track system defects and test resolutions to defects.
* Contribute towards development and implementation of an automated testing strategy.
* Escalate to and work with internal software engineering team to resolve complex support issues.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
* Work with offshore resources across all test deliverables.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related degree
* At least two years-experience testing complex software applications
* Solid knowledge of best practices, techniques and methodologies related to software quality assurance
* Experience in all aspects of the software development life-cycle and exposure to different Agile methodologies
* Experience using tools such as Quality Center for tracking requirements, building test plans, tracking test results and managing defects found during the testing process
* Experience using tools for automated testing such as QTP or Selenium
* Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc), client-server and web-based application concepts
* Working knowledge of the forward or reverse mortgage industry, ideally around the processing, underwriting, funding and closing of residential home loans
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related degree
* Detailed working knowledge of loan origination (LOS) software applications
* Solid understanding of home mortgage concepts
* Experience using SQL to write simple queries
