Role : Oracle Exadata Design DBA/ Architect
Location : Boston, MA
Duration : Contract 12+Months

Responsibilities
Database Architect for multiple Securities Finance Project and Application initiatives. Analyzes, designs, and develops RDBMS data model (conceptual, logical, physical) for OLTP, ODS and DataMart or Data Warehouse for Financial Application (Trading, Operational, Transaction Processing, Reporting) such as Securities Lending (agency & Principal) with minimal management guidance.
•Creates project plans for deliverables and meets the deliverable deadlines. Work in a complex deadline driven projects with minimal supervision.
•Provides technical expertise in analyzing, designing, estimating, developing, and implementing new data model for project
•Develops and helps in the analysis of the new architectural/design changes for any of the existing databases.
•Provides subject matter expertise in reviewing, analyzing, and resolving complex issues including database performance.
•Will be responsible for understanding the current architecture, supporting any new changes and the analysis of new requirements
•Analyze the various business requirements and creating new changes for the Database
•Prepares user and systems documentation as needed.
•Demonstrates creativity, the ability to develop new ideas, the ability to present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
•Strong written & verbal communication skills. Experience writing, reviewing technology documents including user guides.
•Financial services/mutual fund/Securities industry / Trading line of domain experience
Technical Skills
•At least 5+ year of experience in Database design / Architecture / Data Modeling for OLTP, ODS and DataMart or Data Warehouse for Financial Application (such as Trading, Operational, Transaction Processing, Reporting)
•Working knowledge of Erwin
•In depth Working knowledge and experience of Oracle 11g, Exadata, PL/SQL
•Working knowledge and experience of Oracle Golden Gate
•Working knowledge and experience of Unix Shell Scripting
•Must know how to optimize and improve the performance of the various long running queries
•Recommend best practices / changes for the data base design (conceptual, logical, physical)
•Understand the data requirements, ETL layer and tools familiarity (data transformation / extraction)
•Experience working in a technology driven environment.
•Business Intelligence platforms such as IBM Cognos
•Practical experience using Scrum, Agile modeling and adaptive software development.
