Position: Network Engineer
Location: Mt Laurel, NJ
Duration: Contract role
Roles and responsibilities
· 5+ years of hands-on IP router/switch/telephony experience in IT design and support.
· Understanding of the high level design criteria for managing a large data/voice communications networks
· CCNP/JNCIP or CCIE/JNCIE certified or equivalent on-the-job experience preferred
· Intermediate scripting skills REQUIRED: Python (desired) - JavaScript, Java, Ruby, or GO but no Perl
· Solid understanding of IP routing and switching (IS-IS and BGP)
· Solid understanding of IPv4, Multicast and QOS. IPv6 experience a plus
· Knowledge of Frame Relay/MPLS/ISDN, etc.
Additional notes:
· Should have experience with configuring routers and building a tool with scripts (ideally Python)
· If candidates don't have Python scripting experience, should have JavaScript, or Ruby (no Perl)
· Experience having built a tool with scripts is highly preferred - will definitely set someone apart.
· MUST know BGP, other protocols are nice to have but not required (IS-IS, OSPF)
