Job Description
In the Apps Group, User Experience Designers play a prominent role from the very beginning of our product development process. An ideal candidate would:
• Be a thoughtful voice for our users (the consultants and their clients), constantly thinking about new and improved use cases and features that will appeal to them.
• Be comfortable working in small multidisciplinary product teams to help build products that are beneficial to our consultants and their clients.
• Be able to develop high level user stories, design pretotypes/prototypes, create specs, and build some of the production assets.
• Be excited about developing innovative user experiences that result in improved consultant productivity and better insights.
• Be equally comfortable working the details of designs at a pixel level and at a storyboard level.
• Be willing to maintain a high level of visual fidelity across pretotypes, prototypes and ultimately products.
• Be something of a data artist, taking lots of data and presenting it in an interesting and insightful way.
• Be nimble. We will constantly be working to define requirements while simultaneously designing for those requirements. We want batch sizes to be small in the build-test-learn agile model.
• Be a designer who can code (at least a little bit).
• Be experienced in digital product development and with agile approaches.
Requirements & Skills:
• At least 7-10 years of relevant product design experience working on major product releases.
• Experience designing engaging user experiences and data visualizations for desktop, web, or mobile apps.
• Proficiency with the common suite of desktop applications used to create the wide variety of materials required to take a solution from concept through code.
• Ability to think about a problem from multiple angles to come up with the best design.
• Ability to prototype (hack and/or code if necessary) designs in lo-fidelity and hi-fidelity as required.
• Unique drive to continue pushing products forward while innovating features, functionality and usability.
• Proven track record for deploying high quality experiences.
• A strong sense of design theory and typography are critical.
• Experience working closely with other designers, product managers and developers.
• Excellent presentation skills and attention to detail.
• Articulate and passionate verbal communicator.
• A complete portfolio that shows breadth and depth of work.
• B.S./B.A. in related field or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to travel, as client assignments require
