NEEDS TO HAVE HEAVY DESIGN EXPERIENCE
Opened back up -- Sr. Designer, UX
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 4+ months
Interview: Skype
Visual UX/UI designer to support the ux leads of our cross-functional VS Digital Platform product teams. Each team's objective is to drive innovation and performance optimization for an area of victoriassecret.com. Intimately understand the inner workings of the area of focus, competitive space and the customer. Work on a monthly release schedule, utilizing an Agile/Lean UX methodology to identify, develop, and iterate customer-facing enhancements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Visual & Functional Enhancements
• Support innovating & proposing functional solutions to enhance the customer experience
• Understand the enhancement objective to iterate for solution
• Participate in Design Studio exercises as needed to generate ideas collectively
• Assist in final UI leveraging VS standards and best practices
• Collaborate with development team on technical recommendations
• Navigate the site often to understand the site and uncover areas of opportunity
• Create wireframes as needed
Usability & Test Support
• Help with the creation of layouts, low-fi concepts, motion tests, and/or prototypes for GOOB and/or formal usability sessions
• Explore variations in micro interactions for optimal clarity throughout the experience
• Observe usability sessions when possible & focus on extracting key learns to optimize the experience
• Use best practices for preparing & interpreting usability observations
Competitive Patterning
• Participate in structured patterning exercises to Identify best-in-class functionality from the competition
• Read reports from sites that aggregate findings based on larger usability sessions
• Continued competitive awareness for product best-in-class.
Front End Build QA
• Leverage tools efficiently to communicate enhancement specification & capture defects (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
• Work side-by-side with a Front End Web Development to build and validate all visual/functional enhancements
• Ensure visual & interactive integrity of front-end build
• Validate all UI states have been implemented to specifications & standards
Presentation Support
• Support preparing decks as needed for better communication of a concept
• Partner with various creative leads to organize layouts and deliver for executive presentation
QUALIFICATIONS
• Sophisticated sense of visual design/style
• Passionate advocate of for usability & user experience
• UI visual design and interaction design expertise a plus
• Ability to translate complex design challenges into clear, customer-friendly experiences
• Working understanding of ecommerce and usability best practices
• Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team member
• Resourceful self-starter who gets things done
• Highly organized with extreme attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Positive, constructive approach
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Bachelor's Degree (Design / Interactive) or equivalent design experience
• 3-5 years Web visual design experience
• Mastery of appropriate tools & technology
• Advanced Photoshop
• Working knowledge of Illustrator
• Understanding of the capabilities relating to the use of front-end Web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript a benefit
• Proven talent in graphic and interactive design
• Retail/fashion brand or agency experience desired; ecommerce experience ideal
• Design for tablet & mobile UI
