Description:
Security Engineer Responsibilities:
* Review adherence with established and well-documented Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) processes for IT LOB applications.
* Assist app teams with QA and exception approvals for security requirements at different stages of app development in SDL (requirements, design, development, QA, staging, operations, etc.).
* Support app teams in reviewing and mitigating issues flagged off by various security scanning tools.
* Track and communicate status of assessments to relevant stakeholders (app teams, PUs, ACE managers, etc.)
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Good understanding of Secure Development Lifecycle and the security activities in different stages of SDL.
* Good understanding of common security vulnerabilities and mitigations.
* Basic understanding of security design and threat modeling.
* Basic understanding of source code (ability to manually review source code is *not* needed)
* Basic 101-level understanding of Crypto as applied in security design situations.
* Basic familiarity with one or more security tools such as Fiddler, Burp, Fortify, Nessus, Qualys, etc.
* Good communication skills - oral and written.
