Location:: San Jose, CA
Duration:: Long term contract
Description::
The UX Designer is responsible for creating compelling, innovative design solutions that demonstrate the power and value of rich internet experiences for Cloud Consumption software. The UX Designer collaborates closely with engineering and product management to conceptualize, design and prototype web features and applications, and contributes to design patterns and building blocks for our application framework. The UX Designer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to bring to life the Cloud Consumption vision via static and dynamic (prototype) designs. The UX Designer's priority is to meet user (and customer) needs in close partnership with product management and engineering. The UX Designer has passion for solving problems and making complex systems of interaction fluid and easy to use. Above all, the UX Designer is curious and eager to understand how things work, and able to translate that into a compelling user experience.
As an UX Designer, you will:
• Partner with Engineering and Product Marketing to deliver wireframes, logical flows, and specifications
• Leverage modern web technologies to define innovative user interfaces and interaction models that result in improved user productivity and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to communicate designs
• Collaborate with product teams within and outside of Cloud Consumption to develop UI components and design patterns
• Understand and employ best practices for information architecture, interaction designs, usability and supporting technologies.
• 5+ years experience designing seamless and usable web applications
• Experience developing and delivering successful, intuitive, and compelling designs that contribute to market leadership
• Understanding of the product life cycle and the partnerships critical to success
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to successfully develop and deliver shipping products
Education
Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design or a related field, or 5 or more years of relevant experience
Coursework in or familiarity with usability and design principles
Coursework in or familiarity with software development practices, especially integrating UX into Agile methods
Specialty in visualization and data management a plus.
Mandatory
• Ability to deliver design material on target for schedule, budget, and quality
• Knowledge of user centered design processes and methods
• Experience with Omnigraffle/Visio, Axure, Creative Studio
• Desired knowledge in Single Page Application framework (AngularJS, Ember, ReactJS)
• Interest in and aptitude for structure, organization, and terminology
• Understanding of usability protocols and methods a plus
• Appreciation of the influence of interactive web technologies (HTML/CSS, DHTML, JavaScript) and industry trends on design
• Experience working to Agile methodologies
• Ability to coordinate and track user stories, use cases, and design deliverables
• Ability to engender trust and respect of peers and stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of non-technical internal clients
• Domain knowledge of cloud fundamentals a plus
