Weblogic/JBOSS Administrator

Location: Hicksville, NY

Duration: 3-6 months Contract

 

Responsibilites:

• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision both individually and in a team setting
• Daily maintenance of systems including monitoring system operations, performance tuning, applying necessary system patches and resolving user problems.
• Set up and configure new web and application server instances and operating environments
• Provide support for overnight production application code deployments
• Provide periodic on call support for production application issues
• Provide support for annual disaster recovery testing practice
• Perform R&D activities independently or in a team setting as required
• Create and maintain shell scripts to automate various tasks
• Maintain support for jobs and applications as required
• Maintain system backup & recovery procedures
• Understanding of middleware software technologies and architectures and new technology trends

 

Requirements:

·         Strong knowledge of UNIX operating systems (HP-UX, Sun/Solaris, AIX, Linux)

·         Experience with Apache, iPlanet Webserver & Weblogic, JBOSS

·         Experience providing Weblogic systems administration support in both a development and production environments

·         Knowledge of web and application server performance analysis, capacity planning and security practices

·         Excellent verbal & written communication skills
