Job Requirement: Responsibilities:
Provide technical support in developing and maintaining database applications, with a primary focus on complex SQL joins, data cleansing, data extracting, data conversation and data integration; working with business and IT lead to determine business and functional requirements and identify solutions to resolve those needs.
Position Description:
- Responsible for designing, modeling, developing and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS)
- Analyzes data requirements, application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs, develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet system(s) requirements
- Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning
- Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple platforms and computing environments
- Develops an overall data architecture that supports the information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design, develop and maintain database applications using MS SQL server 2008, 2005
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, problem diagnosis and database performance tuning/optimization.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in creating data model and designing database.
- Minimum three years of experience creating scripts, store procedures and SSIS packages for data integration, data maintenance
- Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner Preferred Skills Required: Preferred candidate will have experience working with large software development teams and the associated complexities Position Description: Excellent communication skills, data analysis, extensive utilization of DTS/SSSI for data transformation and loading of data, understanding of data modeling concepts, ability to understand and work with complex data models

Senior DB2 DBA
San Antonio, TX
3-5 YEARS
$60/HR
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 8 YEARS OF DB2 DBA EXPERIENCE. PREFER
The Application DB2 DBA must have strong DB2 database administrator experience. Direct interaction with the application development teams will be required. The candidate must also have demonstrated database knowledge of Informix and working knowledge of MS SQL Server and MySQL.
High skill level and experience is required for the following:
Strong DB2 database analytical and decision making skills. Demonstrated DB2 database configuration and administration experience. Demonstrated DB2 database performance tuning experience. Demonstrated DB2 database backup and data recovery experience. Demonstrated DB2 SQL report writing experience.
Medium skill level and experience is required for the following:
Informix database analytical and decision making skills. Demonstrated Informix SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experience. Demonstrated Informix SQL report writing experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux system administration skills.
Low skill level and experience is required for the following:
Demonstrated MS SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experience. Demonstrated MS SQL report writing experience. Demonstrated MySQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experience. Demonstrated MySQL report writing experience.
