The Programmer is responsible for analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team. Programmers typically are involved in maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work. Programmers have a range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by the Application Team. The Programmer works with the Functional Architect and Technical Architecture Specialist on an as needed basis to ensure that design and code meets customer requirements.

The position serves as a senior/lead data warehouse developer for DW/BI solutions within the PennDOT's Bureau of Business Solutions & Services.  The candidate will lead DW/BI projects and initiatives related to the expansion of the enterprise data warehouse and development of new BI applications. The candidate will serve as the DW/BI team's Informatica expert, and is also expected to have very strong data warehousing experience, Oracle Pl/SQL, and data modeling skills.  Responsibilities will include Informatica architecture and technical support, Informatica ETL development and troubleshooting, dimensional modeling, SQL and PL/SQL development, Oracle performance tuning, and BI developer support. Technologies include Informatica PowerCenter 9.5, Oracle 11g, PL/SQL, and Business Objects XI.  Candidate can expect to spend 75%of their time doing hands-on development and 25% performing lead/architect duties.

The Dashboard Early Warning System and Intervention Catalog is a high profile project for PDE which is about to be rolled out statewide in Fall of 2014.  This individual will be responsible for merging code from GitHub into the existing TFS environment.  Coordinating with the network team to conduct builds to multiple environments.
