Title: QA Engineer
Location: Merrimack, NH
Team: FIMT (Money Markets division - Trading, Fixed Income, trading portfolio management) which supports al systems development and project initiatives for FMRCo (Fidelity Management Investment Technology). The team supports development efforts specifically for the Fixed Income investment arm of FMRCo. The Fixed Income Division is primarily located in Merrimack, NH but also has a research base in London and Hong Kong. The supporting development and QA teams are also located in Merrimack, NH and Bangalore, India.
Why Open: Project
Project Details: The QA Analyst will be performing end to end testing for a new Money Market Trading Application being developed as the group moves away from Sybase. The back end is already in place so they will be ensuring the front end is working as expected so they will be testing the UI and backend (Oracle) of the application (their trading applications are written in Java and .Net).
Start: ASAP
Duration: 4 months ( until the end of Dec.) Potentially could be extended.

What the environment: Pure Agile, Extreme Programming with monthly release cycles. This is a fast paced, energetic and important piece of Fidelity's business. The group / environment are very functional and collaborative. The Fidelity Fixed Income Mutual Fund assets under management have grown significantly over the past few years, and continue to grow. This is a unique opportunity to be front and center to prepare our Fixed Income systems to enable full global investing!
Hours: M-F, 40 hours a week.
Job Description:
Must Haves
The individual's experience should be specific to the financial industry and clearly be focused on testing/quality assurance
· 7+ years Quality Assurance testing/ strong automation experience – the group is predominately automated.
· Trading domain experience - Order Management Trading system, specifically in Fixed Income domain, FIX testing and Java based web services.
· Experience using an Automation tool like Selenium or Fitness (open source) - test driven development tool used for Automation.
· Experience working in an Agile environment as a QA Analyst – This group at Fidelity is pure Agile/Extreme Programming so they must be able to thrive in this type of environment where they sit directly with the developers and the business users and can interact back and forth. They do have a scrum master in the group as well.
· End to end testing, functional testing, and regression testing.
· Experience working in a Sybase or Oracle environment – they are moving away from Sybase, legacy applications, to Oracle.
· Understand and experience with the full testing lifecycle and SDLC; namely Agile SDLC processes.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Pluses
· Performance testing experience – this group does do performance testing but they do not need to have experience with any particular tool, as there is a performance engineer/separate group for that.
· Someone who understands development/can look at the code in the application/ can understand the test hooks (hidden messages) the developer will write into the application which are used in Automation.
Day to Day
· The testing is predominately automated and they will be responsible for the functional, regression, and end to end testing of the trading applications. There may involve some performance testing as well
· They will be supporting 30 traders on the floor and making sure data gets there.
· Typical day will involve iteration planning session, then mapping out stories (2-3 days), then developing the test cases, test strategies, and executing the test cases.
