Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of software quality assurance/web app testing experience
· 1 year working in AGILE SDLC.
· Experience implementing automated testing using tools such as Selenium, JIRA, Quick Test Professional, Robot Framework.
· Experience with Oracle, NoSQL/DynamoDB, Weblogic/Tomcat, Apache, HTML5, JAVA, SOAP, Web Services, APIs.
· Ability to perform backend testing using open source testing tools, for example: SoapUI.
· Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools.
· Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
· Excellent co-ordination/communication skills are required.
· Strong attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Experience with Responsive Design testing a plus.
· Ecommerce experience preferred.
SUMMARY
The Senior Software Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for analyzing, automating, testing, and resolving technical issues to ensure that developed products meet the design specifications and are within Client standards. This position is responsible for leading and guiding one or more technical SQE project teams.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Guides the planning, creation and execution of manual tests and automated tests using an automated scripting tool for Web and Mobile Applications and understands the concepts behind automation and when to implement it.
· Facilitates troubleshooting, solves problems and highlights risks and issues.
· Leads, plans, schedules and implements testing for projects, defines test objectives, and writes scripts (manual and automated).
· Formulates test plans including systems analysis, risk analysis, dependency analysis, and writing and plotting test strategies.
· Investigates and reports project issues by communicating and working with various departments (Development, Product, Project Management, etc.), as well as other project teams as needed.
· Provides training and mentoring to more junior QA Engineers.
· Analyzes and ensures requirements/User Story acceptance criteria are acceptable for test case creation.
· Tracks test progress and results in test management tools, and reports issues in a bug reporting tool.
· Work with project team members to automate tests for Continuous Integration Build using Jenkins.
