Performance Engineer
· As a Consulting Performance Engineer, you will be part of a world class team ensuring the performance, capacity, and reliability of our applications and infrastructure serving a worldwide client base. You will work in a fast paced and highly technical collaborative team environment developing innovative solutions for capacity and performance testing complex multi-tiered applications. Key roles and responsibilities:
· Providing strategic guidance for future direction of the Performance Center of Excellence (PCOE).
· Providing guidance and oversight for improvements to software measurement, metrics and analytical techniques.
· Being responsible for the development of test strategies for projects that may span multiple products, technologies and test disciplines.
· Working closely with LexisNexis and vendor resources to ensure test cases and acceptance criteria adhere to requirements and are accurately validated during the certification process.
· Key accountabilities:
· Work collaboratively with the business, architects, and developers to define non-functional requirements (NFRs), identify gaps, assess capability, and document risks.
· Develop performance and capacity models.
· Develop project estimates as part of the concept and project planning process.
· Define key metrics and instrumentation for measuring and monitoring performance and capacity.
· Identify trends through the use of metrics to forecast quality and release readiness.
· Design and implement performance and capacity testing solutions using a variety of third party and custom tools in a distributed highly available environment
· Troubleshoot complex configuration, infrastructure, networking, and application problems that could impact the performance or capacity of our system.
· Provide release performance assessments and proactively communicate risks and dependencies which may impact the reliability, performance and/or availability of the product.
· Qualifications:
· Bachelors or Master's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or related fields of Engineering or IT.
· 10+ years of experience in performance engineering with commercial business-oriented software applications
· Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
· Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to relate detailed information and summarize to a management level
· Mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
