Position: Web engineer
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 4 Weeks
Essential Job Functions:
· Installation, configuration, deployment and maintenance of Oracle WebLogic and Oracle HTTP Server (or Apache) on Linux and/or AIX
· Monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
· Systems/Applications management using administrative interface systems management tools (Admin Console & AppDynamics)
· Work closely with application development and design teams to build web applications/services
· Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations
· Administer and enforce IT standards and processes
Requirements:
· Install and configure 7 Oracle HTTP (Apache) and 7 Oracle WebLogic servers
· Create repeatable and/or automated processes to deploy where possible
· Documentation on install and configuration procedures to be written and turned over to Client
· Troubleshooting as needed
· Patching as needed
Desired Skills:
· Extensive administration and troubleshooting experience with WebLogic Application Server and HTTP servers (Apache/OHS)
· In-depth troubleshooting of Oracle WebLogic application servers
· Experience working with UNIX, Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems
· Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, J2EE, LDAP, SMTP and Web Services
· Strong analytical skills, Strong Trouble Shooting skills, organized and detail-oriented; self-directed
· Data Center experience (change control; ticketing systems; coordinating with other support groups)
· Customer interface experience (managing expectations; negotiating compromise solutions)
· Knowledge of load-balancers and redirectors (e.g. F5 Load balancers)
· Experience automating tasks using a scripting language (ksh, Perl, etc.)
· Experience managing the escalation of cross-functional problems with multiple vendors
