| Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills | Description
Member of team that is responsible for the client system engineering for all corporate, retail and distribution center environments. Responsible for administering VMware VDI and ThinApp environments and providing support to associates using these environments. Responsible for developing standard client OS images for use in the VDI environment and application packages for use in the ThinApp environment. Assists team in developing and maintaining OS images and application packages for use in corporate LANDESK environment. Develops and maintains technical documentation of VDI and ThinApp technologies and processes. Provide advanced technical support of systems management technologies used by local and distributed client technology teams.
Work Experience and education requirements
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
· Typically has 10+ years of IT work experience, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience developing and implementing complex endpoint management solutions.
· High level technical ability/understanding across very broad ranges of technology including client, server and network architectures and interconnectivity.
· Very strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and be ability to drive implementation of technologies and processes across multiple geographic locations.
· Proven expertise in the administration and support of VMware VDI and ThinApp technologies.
· Advanced working knowledge of all aspects of OS image and enterprise software package engineering and deployment processes and technologies.
· Advanced working knowledge of enterprise level endpoint management systems (LANDesk, SCCM or equivalent).
· Expert-level experience with Windows desktop systems engineering and administration including configuration management via Group Policy, registry, WMI, and Windows scripting (VB, WSH, batch, etc.).
· Advanced working knowledge of endpoint protection technologies including antivirus (Symantec, Kaspersky, McAfee or equivalent), disk encryption (Credant or equivalent) and patch deployment (LANDesk, SCCM or equivalent).
· Working knowledge of enterprise reporting tools and SQL query languages for report creation. |
| Roles and responsibility |
40% Provide support to local and remote associates, contractors and consultant using the VDI and ThinApp environments. Develop and maintain user documentation and training for use of these environments.
30% Develop and maintain standard OS images and application packages for VDI, ThinApp and LANDESK environments. Apply security and application updates to VDI and ThinApp environments. Facilitate use of OS images and application packages by distributed client technology teams.
20% Provide advanced technical support to distributed client technology teams on use of systems management and security technologies.
10% Serve as technical lead or liaison on enterprise level projects that rely on the VDI and ThinApp environments.
