Lead/Senior Java Developer
Santa Clara, CA
Duration: 12 Months
Must have 10 Years IT experience.
Essential qualifications:
Typically 10 or more years of experience in software development and at least 7 years of experience in Java/J2ee development platform.
Must have – Strong java, jsp, web services (soap and/or rest), Oracle or similar database, cvs or similar version control system, Tomcat or similar app server, some Linux hands-on.
Strong - teamwork skills for cross-group cooperation, Ownership traits.
Good - communications skills, technical knowledge across the industry, analytical skills and the ability to understand complexities and how components connect and relate to each other, Business awareness, Coaching and mentoring skills.
Nice to have – C++, online security background.
Description:
This position is responsible for working closely with management and architects to develop highly complex and sophisticated software. 100% hands-on and ability to to lead team (if needed) is required.
Responsibilities:
• Design and code, often for the complex units/modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
• Fix bugs, add enhancements, and convert software to other platforms.
• Assist quality assurance team by providing assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
• Collaborate with quality assurance in creation of their test plans and participate in reviews.
• Evaluate impact of software performance, and recommend changes to software design team.
• Suggest improvement of development processes and procedures.
• Communicate project status to all interested parties and ensure tasks stays on track to satisfy business needs and client expectations.
• Identify and escalates issues and, when necessary, pull appropriate teams together to solve challenge/issue, etc.
• Recognize potential risks and implement course of action to address them appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline.
