Job Description:


We are currently seeking a SAP Business Analyst to join our Information Services team.  The SAP Business Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, planning, developing, testing, documenting, and/or implementing existing and future business systems.  Consults with business personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.  Participates in testing at all levels (unit, integration and user testing); designing and driving testing initiatives; develop and execute test plans; provide leadership to others in support role; documents and trains end users on processes. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-  Evaluates user request for new or modified systems or applications to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, computer capabilities, and impact on business. 
-  Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify objectives. 
-  Provide guidance to user community to aid in meeting business goals. 
-  Reads manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn ways to develop programs that meet user requirements. 
-  Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program and submits plan to user for approval. 
-  Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved. 
-  Develops necessary systems specifications in the form of table layouts, indices, logic definition, data base growth rates, flow charts and other descriptive documentation sufficiently to allow programming to occur. 
-  Designs computer terminal screen, reports, displays, files, etc. 
-  Reads computer printouts or observes display screen to detect syntax or logic errors during program test, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors. 
-  Replaces, deletes, or modifies codes to correct errors. 
-  Analyzes, reviews, and alters program to increase operating efficiency, response time or to adapt to new requirements. 
-  Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. 
-  Works closely with user community to explain and train users in new system. 
-  Accepts feedback from users on required changes to system and make changes as required. 
-  Writes manual for users to describe operating procedures. 
-  Assists users to solve operating problems such that original business objective is met. 
-  Recreates steps taken by user to locate source of problem and rewrites program to correct errors. 
-  Trains users to use program and provides technical assistance. 
-  Installs and tests program at user site. 
-  Monitors performance of program after implementation. 
-  Other Duties as Assigned. 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: 
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field 
5+ years experience with SAP in Controlling (CO) business area in a Global SAP implementation.  Proven Project Management track record supporting implementations, system enhancement activities, system configuration, and user support and training. 
  
Mathematical Skills:  
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

Reasoning Ability:  
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concerted variables in standardized situations. 

Other Requirements:
-   SAP Business Analyst experience in manufacturing company 
-  Cross functional experience in Finance and Accounting with experience in SAP Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) Collections Management & Credit Management, and OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) 
-  Experience with Financial budgeting and consolidation tools 
-  A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills 
-  Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented 
-   Ability to manage support, training and implementation activities in a fast paced Information Services department

ETL BODI BODS Developer

Greater Detroit area, MI

6 months contract (possible extensions)

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain the project schedule
  • Manage the day to day work of the BI team to ensure consistent technical direction and maintain best practices in all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Analyze, document and communicate data integration requirements related to BI needs and objectives, and coordinate requirements with data owners and custodians
  • Assess and propose solutions to improve the BI delivery architecture to evolve with business needs, including recommending data marts and data warehouse structures
  • Establish and enforce standards to avoid redundancy and encourage standardization and consistency among reporting products and processes
  • Design and build data marts for BI reporting
  • Design and build graphs, charts and advanced SQL statements, develop scorecards, write and implement ETL scripts, tune tables and scripts for performance

 

 

Experience & Expertise:

  • Good Leadership skills, Strong client communication skills and team mentoring skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience designing data models for 2+ large project ( $500K plus)
  • Ability to convert business requirements into functional and technical requirements
  • At least 5 years' experience developing ETL scripts for BI products (Business Objects Data Integrator)
  • Over 7 years' experience in various forms of data modeling, including relational and star schema.
  • Proficiency and demonstrated ability to design and develop numerous graphs, charts and advanced SQL statements, develop scorecards, create data structures to support requirements, write and implement ETL scripts, tune tables and scripts for performance.
  • Demonstrated versatility in assuming a variety of responsibilities on BI projects, including hands-on project management, customer communication, requirements analysis and coordination, architecture design, and technical lead
  • At least 9 years of progressive accomplishment as an expert BI designer and developer, defining and implementing requirements across multiple information technology platforms.

 

Skills:

  • Advanced skills in PL/SQL
  • knowledge & understanding of ETL architechture and development lifecycle
  • Business Objects Data Integrator (BODI)
  • TOAD
