Client is a worldwide cargo handling company with various clients such as Emirates, Lufthansa, Formula 1 Racing. The main objective of the project was to develop SSIS packages and automate the loading of data from JD Edwards into the staging area for Clarity Systems from IBM for reporting and financial services.
Responsibilities:
· Performed various project tasks in the development life cycle including requirement, analysis, design, development, and testing for the project using SQL Server Integration Services.
· Developed SSIS Package to handle day to day transactions and transfer it into staging area. From Staging Area, cleanse the data and load it into the financial cube in CLARITY from IBM.
· Wrote numerous stored procedures to perform data cleaning/loading task once data is loaded into staging area.
· Developed account hierarchy based on the accounts provided.
· Loading Account Hierarchy from the tables into the cube to provide for the transactions.
· Used various transformations in SSIS such as Lookup, Merge, Conditional Split, Row Count, Union All
· Created testing procedures for testing the data load and validations across the package.
· Enable logging and checkpoints in the package.
· Troubleshoot existing problems in other packages which were already in the production server.
· Validate data from SQL Server with data from Cognos Finance.
· Validate the account hierarchy with hierarchy from Cognos Finance.
· Extract the data from JD Edwards.
· Used WebService Task to obtain data from JDE and store it in XML.
· Developed code for extracting airline statistics for block hours, flight hours, fuel usage and operating block hours for both
· Used power play in Excel to obtain the statistics for previous years.
· Experience in creating Jobs, Alerts, SQL Mail Agent, and schedule SSIS Packages.
· Scheduled the jobs to streamline and automate cumbersome repeated tasks using SSIS.
· Designed both logical and physical data models in MS VISIO
Environment: MS SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, MS Excel, T-SQL, MS VISIO, JD Edwards, Cognos Finance.
