Splunk power user, light web development (html/javascript/css/jquery/cgi/xml/json), scripting (python/shell/perl)
Resource is needed for SPLUNK development for a "real-time" / "near real-time" Service Operation Dashboard. Must be knowleable in SPLUNK Dashboard development. Would ideally have a some knowledge of Service Management data related to Incident, Problem, Knowledge, and Request Management, however we currently have a Service Management reporting analyst assigned to the work effort that can fill in any Service Management knowledge gaps. Since this effort is looking to highly leverage automated alerting through the use of process control charts/thresholds, the analyst should have a solid understanding of alerting.
Activity involves...
• Create customized dashboards in Splunk
• Use Simple XML syntax to enhance dashboards
• Create and use form searches( UI- Java, Scripting – Shell/Perl/Python)
• Create advanced views ( UI- Java, Scripting – Shell/Perl/Python)
• Customize app navigation ( UI- Java, Scripting – Shell/Perl/Python)
• Create and use workflow actions
• Exploring the REST API and SDKs (Install the Java SDK and Python SDK, Explore SDK packages)
• Connection and authentication - role based authentication (Say, DC level access to view dashboards) 4+ years experience on Splunk admin and App development.
Desirable Skills:
Control-M and Splunk Admin are desired.
• Splunk Error monitoring and generating Alert emails
• Scheduling Splunk Batch jobs and Error trend reporting
• Advanced searching
• Handling search jobs and results.
