Job Title: Release Manager

Job Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 6 Months+

 

Job Description:

·         Create any RFC's (Request for Change) as requested by any feature team under Core Plat.  This includes Auto Pilot-deployments and LSE (Live Site Engineering or Operations) RFC's

·         Work with feature teams to assign Dev and Test resources for each RFC

·         Enter deployment task into TFS (Team Foundation Server – part of Microsoft Visual Studio) and update task throughout the deployment process

·         Manage the RFC deployment including starting mail thread for AP-deployments or working with LSE to ensure LSE deployment RFC's are on the schedule

·         Work with PM's to ensure that any future deployments that come out of their sprints are tracked (we want to ensure we are ahead of the game on deployments)

·         Additional work items as a result of RM initiated projects (see below)

 

Skill set:

·         Familiarity with MSChange and the RFC process (MSChange is an internal program so an outside candidate may not be familiar with this tool)

·         Release Management experience.  Experience running a release from inception to completion.

·         Understanding of XTS (Auto Pilot management tool) – This is needed for looking up Environment and Machine Function names

·         Familiarity with TFS (Team Foundation Server) including entering Work Items and writing queries to create useful reports for both shiproom and management

·         Cross-group collaboration skills – Ability to interact with multiple teams within core plat so that dependencies are properly communicated

·         Great communication skills both verbal and written.
