BCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced SQL SERVER DBA in Richmond, CA for a 1 + year Contract
Title : SQL SERVER DBA
Location: Richmond, CA

Skill Requirements :
ETL - extract transform load, years of Experience
Microsoft - SQL Server, years of Experience
Technical Environment : Microsoft .Net Technologies
ROLE: DBA
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Must have experience developing SQL queries and Stored Procedures
• Must have previous experience as a development support DBA o Strong working experience in implementing change control processes.
o Strong working knowledge of SQL administration, including failover, clustering, and performance tuning
o Experience in implementing backup and recovery tasks
o Minimum of 8 years professional IT experience required, of which at least 5 should be as a DBA
o MS SQL server DBA certification would be a plus
• Must have previous experience implementing DTS and ETL programs
• Must have previous experience in data warehouse data modeling
o Familiarity with dimensional modeling techniques, such as star schema
o Familiarity with data staging modeling
• Must be able to provide good database design and documentation.
• Must have good understanding of processes and should be able to multitask.
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute SQL queries and Stored Procedures
• Manage application database instances to support multiple development tracks, system testing, user acceptance testing, performance testing, regression testing and other functional testing activities
• Analyze, plan and implement changes in the size of databases due to ordinary fluctuations in business growth
• Maintain the data dictionary and data models
• Co-ordinate database back-up and restore activities with ITSD
• Tune and reorganize databases as required to maintain system performance requirements and in accordance with a schedule:
o Create indices to optimize application performance
o Generate the performance statistics report and perform an analysis of the databases performance for the given period of time and identify the performance bottlenecks
• Monitor storage space utilization through alerts and other monitoring tools
• Lead the SQL server upgrades as approved through the CR process
