Software Solutions Engineer

Position Summary
The Software Solutions Engineer will be primarily responsible for implementing enhancements, customizations & 3rd-party integrations for Kodak's advanced capture (or intelligent document recognition) solutions. The successful candidate will ensure that all work meets specifications and is unit tested.
In this role, the Software Solutions Engineer will help support the solution architect and implementation manger, and will assist in analyzing issues found in the field.
Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities;
• Systems programming using Java and Kodak software products.
• Develop code per detailed specifications using specified programming languages, tools, and techniques under the direction of the project manager or team leader.
• Deliver unit-tested systems timely that meet specification functionality requirements.
• Work with team to define detailed specifications for specific functionality requirements.
• Provide analysis for technical solutions based on functional requirements.
• Assist in determining requirements for estimating work effort and timelines.
• Provide consultative services on technical issues to other team members and project teams.
• Participate in development of test plans.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Willing and able to be on-call.
• Keep abreast of latest developments regarding effective procedures, methods, and tools in software development and testing.
• Assist team members in whatever way necessary to reach successful completion of the tasks at hand.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in developing and commercializing software/system-intensive products.
• Experience in the design and delivery of web services, SOA and/or other contemporary integration techniques and technologies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Document management industry experience preferred.
• B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent (M.S. degree preferred).
• 3 or more years experience with Microsoft C# or Java.
• Experience throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Good initiative and results oriented.
• Ability to come up to speed quickly.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally on occasion (<10%).
