DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT TASKS / DUTIES:

 

The Baltimore City Police department is seeking the services of a Senior Network Technician to provide specialized Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) services for the 911 and 311 Call Center. Act as a technical liaison between, Police, Fire, Tiburon, DPW and Consultants to develop and maintain CAD and systems support. Provide day to day oversight of CAD and 911 system to ensure that any system errors or CAD-related trouble tickets are corrected as required.

Conduct periodic tests and audits of system hardware and software configurations.

Oversee testing of all hardware/software changes to ensure proper operation. Research and document user requirements for system upgrades, modifications, and bug fixes.

 

Job Description:

The Senior Network Technician will manage, maintain and install the CAD data network and devices.  Provide technical support to Tiburon during the installation of the new CAD system and assist with testing CAD Network and the various interfaces to BPD systems.  Also provide emergency support for both the existing CAD system and the new system.  Responsibilities:

·         Stratus CAD server interface applications

·         CAD workstation applications (Personal Computer)

·         MDT (Mobile Data Terminal) Interface Application

·         RMS (Records Management System)  CAD interface 

·         Administer version management program

·         Perform software backups as required

·         Coordinate work with all vendors

·         1^st Line Triage and or repair if applicable

 

Minimum Experience/Knowledge/Skill:

 

• An associate's degree
• 7 years experience in computer-related field

Familiarity With:

·         Call Center Call processing Software and Hardware

·         Call center Recording Systems

·         Windows for workstations

·         Windows for Servers

·         Voice and Data

·         LAN/WAN

Nice To Have:

·         Integration with Verizon 911

·         ProQ Workstations

·         Tibroun CAD

·         Nice Recording System

·         Freedom Recording Systems

·         Emergency Communications Environment
