Requirements
· 5+ years application development experience required.
· 3+ years' experience working in an SDLC environment.
· 5+ years IBM AS/400 and RPG.
· Development and maintenance of integrated application systems primarily using the RPG Free Format programming language on a hosted IBM AS400 (iSeries) platform.
· Position requires a thorough technical knowledge of IBM iSeries (AS/400), its operating system and all components.
· Knowledge of Query, SQL, Robot, ICOM, Help Systems, Aldon as well as RPG, RPGLE, CLs.
· Excellent project management and effective communication skills - both verbal and written.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
· Automate processes on the iSeries
· Write, translate, and code software programs and modules according to user defined specifications.
· Write programming scripts to enhance the functionality of company application job scheduling tools.
· Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement and general debugging.
· Liaise with network administrators and application developers & engineers to assist with application integration and performance.
· Maintain enterprise automation tool, troubleshoot, updates, upgrades and implement best practices
· Review successfully tested processes prior to migrating to the next environment within batch automation
· Ensure the successful completion of enterprise batch automation processes
· Create, maintain and process job schedules
· Responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions as assigned.
· Ensures and adheres to all established methodologies, standards and guidelines, including but not limited to: analysis & design documents, program specifications, test plans and results, design, code, testing, debugging, and documentation of those programs while delivering assignments within specified time frames.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar field of study preferred
· At least 5+ years' experience with RPG and related iSeries development languages and tools.
· Experience with System 36 RPG and OCL.
· Experience with FTP accessing the IFS on the iSeries.
· In depth knowledge of an experience with large relational integrated database applications systems within an iSeries environment.
· Technical skill set includes Enterprise iSeries system administration; iSeries areas of expertise included are HMC operations, multiple LPAR configurations, iSeries operations, DB2/400 operations and development tools, TCP/IP networking
· Knowledge utilizing iSeries and enterprise batch automation
· Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels, both internal and external, communicate highly technical information to non-technical and technical users, written and verbal English language proficiency
· Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment
· Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
· Self-motivated with the ability to meet and exceed position requirements under minimal direction and supervision
· Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
· Proactive and driven approach to understanding and developing user requirements.
· Experience with c#, .net and Java tools a big plus.
